Trinity Covenant Church has been in the
midst of change and redirection in the past few years, to reflect more
accurately who we are and refine our purpose as a church. Some things, however
have not and will not change: Our desire as a people is to worship and serve
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in spirit and in truth with all of our heart,
mind, body and soul.
What We Believe
We live in times of tumultuous social
change when the rules of life seemingly waver from one day to the next. It is
the power of God that enables us to triumph through prayer, worship and
fellowship. While we may have different cultures and experiences in life in the
Spirit individually, we hold to certain truths set forth by our forefathers in
the faith which unite us and make us one people in Christ.
We believe in the doctrine,
discipline and truths of the Holy Bible as God-breathed,
revealed by Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit; to the end that
the people of God may be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ and the
Church Triumphant throughout the ages. Our beliefs are defined by the Nicene,
Apostles' and Athanasian Creeds. In our worship, we believe in and
proclaim weekly all that is in the Nicene Creed, so that we honor the truths
that are the foundations of the Body of Christ.
Our Worship
We at Trinity Covenant Church have
covenanted together to seek, serve and solicit God's pleasure.
In worship we desire to reflect the beauty and stability of
liturgy and yet remain open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We worship
together and celebrate our Lord's Supper with ancient hymns and prayers,
contemporary praise songs, and prophetic word for an experience that is
biblical, historic, contemporary and relevant.
Our expressions of worship might be
new for you. We hope this will help you join us in worship:
Why do we
stand to sing?
"Praise the Lord you that STAND in the house of the Lord."
(Psalm 136:2)
Why do we
lift our hands?
"LIFT UP YOUR HANDS in the sanctuary and praise the Lord."
(Psalm 134:2)
"I want men everywhere to LIFT UP HOLY HANDS in prayer,
without anger or disputing."
(1 Timothy 2:8)
Why do we clap and shout?
"CLAP YOUR HANDS, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy."
(Psalm 47:1)
Why do we pray for the sick and anoint with
oil?
"Is any sick among you?
Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."
(James 5:14)
Why do we celebrate the Lord’s Supper weekly?
"And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them,
saying,
‘This is My Body given for you;
do this in remembrance of Me.'
In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying,
‘This cup is the new covenant in My Blood, which is poured out for
you.'"
(Luke 22:19-20)
"For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup,
you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes."
(1 Corinthians 11:26)
