About Trinity Covenant Church

Trinity Covenant Church was established in 1981 and has been located at 1095 South Street in Bridgewater since 1983. Our Senior Pastor, the Reverend Thomas W. Bergeron, has been the pastor of Trinity Covenant Church since its inception.

We are a non-denominational church with roots in the Anglican tradition. We blend our roots and tradition with contemporary worship and Biblical teachings relevant to today's society. Trinity Covenant Church is evangelical, which means that we believe that the Bible is both authoritative and trustworthy; and we are charismatic, which means that we believe that the same Holy Spirit that empowered and gifted the first century Christians is still alive and working in us today. We are also liturgical, which means that in our worship, we acknowledge our Anglican heritage: Our pastors and deacons wear traditional robes, we have acolytes (altar boys and girls); we follow the Anglican liturgical calendar and scripture readings; we believe in and confess the Creeds of the Faith; and we celebrate Communion as a congregation when we gather together for worship on Sundays.

Our desire is to worship God in spirit and in truth. We also recognize and celebrate some of the cultural changes that have occurred over the last century, in that we worship with contemporary praise and worship songs, and we combine both new and old in our worship services. We're not trying to be innovative so much as to express our love for Jesus Christ in ways that are faithful, historical and majestic, as well as exciting, relevant and culturally responsive. We draw significance from Matthew 13:52, in which Jesus said,

...therefore everyone who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the   master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.

Our beliefs are defined by the Nicene, Apostles' and Athanasian Creeds. In our worship, we believe in and proclaim weekly all that is in the Nicene Creed, so that we honor the truths that are the foundations of the Body of Christ.

Whether your tradition is Catholic, Evangelical, or Charismatic -- or even if your traditions don't include going to church yet -- we believe that you will be able to touch the heart of God when you worship with us.

Church Leadership

Trinity Covenant Church is led by a Church Leadership Council of Pastors, Deacons, and other Officers who are committed to serve the Church, its Body, and the Community.
